Your website is a potential customer’s first impression of your brand. My experience designing my own small business’s website gave me the opportunity to become an expert in the creation of engaging, high-functioning web design.
Amaroq Design
I founded my bridal accessory company in 2012, and realized how critical it was to have an aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-navigate website.
High-quality, visually stimulating content and clear branding are essential. My target audience consists primarily of young women planning their weddings, so I selected soft, feminine tones. Images are selected and edited to mimic weddings. Typography is delicate and elegant. Relevant keywords are used organically throughout all pages.
Each page has a clear CTA, and all pages interlink flawlessly to encourage viewers to continue to explore, driving up traffic and increasing overall clicks.
The menu bar is clear and concise, with bold links to social media icons/contact information.
Product photographs are clean and the composition is consistent, with each product featuring colorful yet informative descriptions and at least one image of the product being worn.
Website layout translates accurately to mobile devices.

Primate Protection Program
Working with a small team, I built this website for a fictional non-profit organization dedicated to funding the transportation of captive chimpanzees from closed laboratories to accredited sanctuaries.
Having experience in the animal field, I wrote and edited all content.
This website needed to be clean and informative, clearly explaining the problem, cause and solution. The narrative pulls at heartstrings while inspiring viewers to get involved and join the cause.
The image content showcases the dire need for aid and emotionally pulls viewers in.
High-traffic, topical keywords improve website ranking and increase visibility to relevant audiences.
Clear CTAs effectively communicate how viewers can help/get involved in the cause.
All pages are linked to create a pathway for viewers to engage/click through multiple pages, increasing overall website traffic.

Wandering Wolf Tours
This website was designed by myself for a fictional tour guide agency in Lake Tahoe. The main function of this site is to inform an audience about the company and its offered activities.
Scenic imagery and videos are used to showcase the natural beauty of the region. Based on keyword research, this company’s potential customers will be searching for unique, outdoor-based activities and Tahoe’s photogenic scenery sells itself better than any words.
A stationary main menu with drop-down sub-menus keeps the vast amount of information neatly organized and easy for users to navigate.
One page is dedicated to highlighting company culture. A core value of WWT is offering a personalized experience, so the website should bring viewers in and introduce the team as one big family.
A testimonial page is included to increase brand trust and encourage repeat customers.
